The balance between school and work is an essential element to consider so as to ensure academic achievement and to increase the graduation rate of young people. Many studies have focused on the subject, and certain conditions were identified. In addition, as the polls show, school/work balance involves a large number of students in Estrie who, for various reasons, are employed part-time during their studies.
As a regional forum for dialogue dedicated to educational success, the Projet PRÉE has added the theme of balancing school and work to its priority projects. Properly balancing study time and hours of paid work is recognised as an important factor toward academic success.
To date, the Estrie MRCs and the City of Sherbrooke have all joined the Eastern Townships School-Work Balance Program, and now, there are more than 500 employers who have joined this movement of solidarity with certain commitments to their student employees.
The Projet PRÉE is the source of school/work balance promotional material for various clients in Estrie, such as employers, students, parents, and stakeholders. This material is presented to different parties that choose to develop a school/work balance program for their MRC.

High school dropout students in Quebec, physical and mental health and social adaptation: an analysis of the main factors associated therewith (Quebec Institute of statistics)
A logistic regression model was used for this analysis, in order to identify the main physical, mental or psychosocial factors associated with a high risk among young Quebecers of dropping out from high school. The results of this research corroborate findings of other studies made in Quebec and elsewhere: the students most at risk of dropping out display vulnerable behaviour in most spheres of their lives.
