Research Chair on learning to read and write in young children
The Research Chair on learning to read and write in young children was created thanks to an essential partnership in order to promote academic success in reading and writing in schools in Estrie. The members of this group are as follows: the Université de Sherbrooke, the Estrie school boards (Sommets, Hauts-Cantons, Eastern Townships, Région-de-Sherbrooke), the Table estrienne de concertation interordres en éducation (TECIÉ), and Partners for educational success Estrie (Projet PRÉE).
The Research Chair specifically addresses two of the six priority intervention areas of the TECIÉ Action Plan: prevention and early screening of learning problems in mother tongue instruction, especially in reading as well as in mathematics; and assistance to students with difficulties in reading and mathematics.
